The Delegation of the Republic of Moldova continues its efforts to include in the agenda the problem related to “border guards” stations illegally installed in the Security Zone by the Transnistrian side.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the statement of our delegation, as well as in the speeches of the representatives of the Republic of Moldova from the meeting of the Joint Control Commission (JCC) on March 14, the illegal and military character of the border guards was noted.<\/p>\n

Apart from the fact that their presence is in contradiction with the Moldovan-Russian Agreement of July 21 1992 (the main document of the negotiation process and the peacekeeping operation), they hinder the free movement of persons and goods. People are intimidated and subject to unlawful verification, registration, and imputation procedures.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This time, the Tiraspol exponents in the Commission also opposed to a decision on the positions and tried to promote the idea that these armed formations would have the role of preventing the resumption of the armed conflict<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The position of the Russian Federation delegation was formulated by the co-chair of the Commission, Ilya Uvarov, who noted that he perceived “border guards” as a reality and did not see in them a factor limiting the right to freedom of movement.<\/p>\n

At the same meeting, the proposal of the Moldovan delegation to implement a Commission decision taken in March 2008, whereby the Military Observers of the Joint Force of Poverty to visit all the military objectives in the Security Zone, was blocked to know which is really the situation and assess the risks of possible escalation of the situation.<\/p>\n

In the Report on the Situation in the Security Zone for March 6-12, presented by the Joint Military Command, 3 cases were identified for the detection of the World War II ammunition.<\/p>\n

Such ammunition was found in the soil during agricultural works in the households of the Dubasari, \u015eerpeni and Chi\u0163cani localities. They were discharged from the site and are to be destroyed in an established manner under the control of the Joint Force of Poverty.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
