It’s worth noting that the Transnistrian residents are usually very passive in their participation in the Moldovan elections. Almost 2-3 thousand Moldovan citizens from the left bank of the Nistru would always participate\u00a0in the previous elections.<\/p>\n

However, during the recent parliamentary elections, at the polling stations in Varni\u0163a, huge queues have been formed. Several voters from\u00a0Transnistria were brought (and bought, too?) in organized buses and minibusses.<\/p>\n

In addition, several Transnistrian cars were observed adjacent to the two polling stations. Two buses and a minibus had a small billboard on which “Natasha” was written.<\/p>\n

The Moldova.org<\/strong> reporter has observed that the voting process was unusually slow and, still, the voters awaited their turn.<\/p>\n

Moreover, there were 3 places in Bender where drivers were transporting people to the elections.\u00a0Not only did this happen in Varnita, but also in Cosnita, Rezina, Hagimus, Ustia, and many others. A Free Europe Radio reporter, too, spoke with a voter who confirmed to the room that people are brought to the wards and are promised money.<\/p>\n

“They would tell them to vote for a certain party, then the minibuses would drive them to Varni\u0163a or Hajimus, then they would give them the money (about $20, depending on the party) after they have stamped on the bulletin that they voted for”, the reporter Moldova.org said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

But did the\u00a0Central Electoral Commission do anything about it?<\/h3>\n

Immediately after the information appeared in the media on the transportation of voters from the left bank of the Nistru River, the Central Electoral Commission stated that, according to the electoral legislation, there are no bans on the transportation of citizens to the polling stations<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

At the same time, the Democratic Party of Moldova informed the Central Electoral Commission about the fact that on the election day, the Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova would provide money for participation in polling stations in the constituencies for voters from the left bank of the Dniester.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, President Igor Dodon claims that Sheriff LLC, a corporation in Transnistria, buys voters from the left bank of the Nistru to come to the right bank of the Nistru Dniester in order to vote in the elections for the Democratic Party led by Vlad Plahotniuc.<\/p>\n
