Scaparrotti, Chief Allied Force Commander Europe (SACEUR) at Mons.<\/p>\n<p>The talks between the two officials focused on advancing the strategic dialogue between the Republic of Moldova and the Allied countries as well as their support in the consolidation and modernization of the National Army.<\/p>\n<p>According to a press release, the Minister of Defense referred to the medium and long-term priorities of the institution, aimed at <strong>training the staff of professional soldiers, focusing on the creation of a sergeant training school, participation and organization of joint exercises with allied and partner countries to test interoperability, and ncreasing the contribution to global and regional security.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>General Scaparrotti noted that NATO is willing to continue providing assistance to reform the defense sector, in particular, to carry out the project to improve the stockpiles of ammunition and ammunition stockpiles in the National Army&#8217;s depots and to create a sergeant training school in line with international standards.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, Eugen Sturza and General Scaparrotti (who is also the Commander of the European Armed Forces Command) have reviewed the Moldovan-American collaboration on the defense dimension through training and assistance programs that run both in the Republic of Moldova and the United States.<\/p>\n<p>In turn, General Scaparrotti thanked the Republic of Moldova for contributing to international security, as well as the opening of this year&#8217;s Chisinau annual conference to plan the evaluation process in line with the Operational Capabilities Concept (OCC).<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, Minister Sturza has also discussed with General Odd Egil Pedersen, Deputy Chief of Staff of the SHAPE Military Partnership Directorate.<\/p>\n\n<h3>These were the main topics addressed during the meeting:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The training and testing of the National Army militants according to the OCC<\/li>\n<li>The performance of the Moldovan contingents in the KFOR peacekeeping operation in Kosovo<\/li>\n<li>The training in NATO schools, and the standardization of the National Army&#8217;s logistics system<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Reminder:<\/strong> The Minister of Defense is on an official visit to Belgium from February 3 to February 5.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"span-reading-time rt-reading-time\" style=\"display: block;\"><span class=\"rt-label rt-prefix\">Reading Time: <\/span> <span class=\"rt-time\"> 2<\/span> <span class=\"rt-label rt-postfix\">minutes<\/span><\/span>Defense Minister Eugen Sturza met with General Curtis M.
