{"id":446576,"date":"2019-02-01T10:27:49","date_gmt":"2019-02-01T10:27:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.moldova.org\/en\/?p=446576"},"modified":"2019-02-04T11:35:42","modified_gmt":"2019-02-04T11:35:42","slug":"moldova-urges-trenchant-attitude-mediators-observers-towards-defiant-actions-tiraspol","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.moldova.org\/en\/moldova-urges-trenchant-attitude-mediators-observers-towards-defiant-actions-tiraspol\/","title":{"rendered":"Moldova urges a trenchant attitude of mediators and observers towards the defiant actions of Tiraspol"},"content":{"rendered":"<span class=\"span-reading-time rt-reading-time\" style=\"display: block;\"><span class=\"rt-label rt-prefix\">Reading Time: <\/span> <span class=\"rt-time\"> 2<\/span> <span class=\"rt-label rt-postfix\">minutes<\/span><\/span><p>Yesterday, during the meeting with the heads of diplomatic missions of the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Slovakia, the OSCE Mission to Moldova, the United States of America and the European Union, MFAEI State Secretary Tatiana Molcean outlined the position of the Moldovan authorities on some challenging actions taken in the last time by the exponents of the Tiraspol regime.<\/p>\n<p>The State Secretary of the MFAEI expressed the disappointment and dismay of the Moldovan authorities about the recent opening of &#8220;an official representation of Transnistria in Moscow&#8221;, camouflaged under the auspices of a public organization.<\/p>\n<p>In this context, <strong>it was mentioned that the Moldovan authorities consider that the action in question is flagrantly contradictory to the basic provisions of the Moldovan-Russian Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation<\/strong>, signed in November 2001, as well as <strong>the commitments assumed by the Russian Federation as an impartial mediator in the process settlement of the Transnistrian conflict<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The State Secretary also drew attention to Krasnoselski&#8217;s so-called &#8220;decrees&#8221; of 19 October 2018 and January 25, 2019, whereby seven localities on the left bank of the Nistru river in Dubasari (Dorotcaia, Co\u015fni\u0163a, Pohrebea, P\u00e2r\u00e2ta, Cocieri, Molovata Nou\u0103,\u00a0and Vasilevca), as well as Varnita, on the right bank of the Nistru river, are declared as &#8220;temporarily under the control of the Republic&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The MFAEI official said that the authorities of the Republic of Moldova consider these acts as a challenge to all international partners involved in the Transnistrian settlement negotiations, which is likely to destabilize the situation in the Security Zone and create new tensions between the two banks of the river Nistru.<\/p>\n<p>The State Secretary of the MFAEI stressed that <strong>such destructive actions, along with the public statements of the exponents of the Tiraspol regime regarding their tendency to &#8220;obtain the international recognition of the independence of the Transnistrian Moldovan republic&#8221;, are basically undermining the policy of small steps and confidence-building measures and support for the population in the conflict zone<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"span-reading-time rt-reading-time\" style=\"display: block;\"><span class=\"rt-label rt-prefix\">Reading Time: <\/span> <span class=\"rt-time\"> 2<\/span> <span class=\"rt-label rt-postfix\">minutes<\/span><\/span>The Chisinau Foreign Ministry addressed all mediators and observers in the Transnistrian settlement process.
