The Executive Board of the National Bank of Moldova (NBM) decided, on January 22nd<\/sup>, to give a prior permission to a Bulgarian company for the acquisition of a share of 63.89% of BC Moldindconbank S.A., as IPN reports<\/a> citing the NBM. The investor company is DOVERIE UNITED-HOLDING AD<\/strong>, one of the most important companies in Bulgaria. It holds a participation portfolio in more than 20 economic enterprises that operate in a number of countries in the region.<\/p>\n

The investor expressed its interest, after the NBM made the decision to extend for another three months the deadline of selling the newly issued shares of BC Moldindconbank S.A. Thus, the sale of the shares as a single package, amounting to 63.89% of the bank’s share capital, will take place for the benefit of the bank and its clients.<\/p>\n

The investor company aims to come to BC Moldindconbank S.A. with a team of managers who have a rich international banking experience. Therefore, the NBM considers the potential investor’s intention as a notable opportunity to develop Moldindconbank on a long-term basis and to increase the competitiveness and quality of services provided to its clients.<\/p>\n

Note that in September 2017, the company also obtained a prior permission from the NBM to acquire a stake in another licensed bank in the Republic of Moldova. For objective reasons, that transaction did not take place.<\/p>\n

The Moldovan Bank will continue its activity as normally, providing all services, including those relating to deposits, lending and settlement operations.<\/p>\n

The BC Moldinconbank<\/a> S.A. is one of the earliest-founded and biggest banks in the Republic of Moldova. It was founded in 1959 and had a number of 1464 employees in 2016.<\/p>\n
