“I decided, on the basis of the law and the powers granted to me as President of the Parliament, to propose Octavian Armasu as the next Governor of the NBM,” announced Andrian Candu on November 29th.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Octavian Armasu, the\u00a0newly appointed Governor of the National Bank of Moldova (NBM), comes in his new position with an impressive fortune. According to the declaration of wealth and personal interests for 2017, the former Minister of Finance indicated an inheritance of 38,000 euros<\/strong> and an income of over 45,000 euros<\/strong> he received after selling an apartment and a car. The year 2017 was a rich one for Octavian Armasu. He leased the 137 agricultural lands for which he has received over 150,000 lei<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The family of the former Minister of Finance holds two garages, two apartments<\/em> with a total area of 170 m.p. and two villas<\/em> of 42.7 m.p. and 92.7 m.p. Former Finance Minister says he has a Volvo XC60<\/em> manufactured and bought in 2017 for which he would have paid about 45,000 euros.<\/p>\n

Armasu holds 23 bank accounts totaling about 150 thousand euros<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Reminder: Yesterday, November 30th, Parliament called Octavian Armasu as governor of the NBM. A week ago, Sergiu Cioclea announced his resignation as a governor of the NBM, which he has been holding since 11 April 2016.<\/p>\n
