The subject was discussed at the 5th Meeting of the Association Committee and at the meeting of the Subcommittee on Geographical Indications, which took place in Brussels on October 18-19<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The EU representatives had examined the request to increase export tariff quotas. In this context, the European Commission will continue the negotiations on this subject.<\/p>\n

In this context, our country’s delegation presented the main achievements in implementing the commitments deriving from the Association Agreement on the dimension of foreign trade, public procurement, quality infrastructure,\u00a0and market surveillance, intellectual property, energy,\u00a0and services.<\/p>\n

With regard to foreign trade, our country’s delegation noted that in 2017, exports of Moldovan products to the European Union market amounted to $1.59 billion<\/strong>, representing 65.85% of Moldova’s total exports. The European Union is the country’s main trading partner.<\/p>\n

At the same time, representatives of the Republic of Moldova reiterated their request to examine the possibility of increasing tariff constraints as well as operating changes in the list of products by increasing quotas for products with a high production and export capacity.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
