Air Moldova was sold to Civil Aviation Group SRL, which manages the Romanian airline company Blu Air. The Public Property Agency announced today that the decision was taken by the contest committee.<\/p>\n

The value of the sale-purchase transaction exceeds 1.2 billion lei<\/strong>, of which 50 million lei were transferred to the state budget. The rest of the amount represents the debts of Air Moldova, which the investor had to pay.<\/p>\n

In the last years, the results of its activity showed a continuous decline, registering in 2015 losses in the amount of 227 million lei<\/strong>, in 2016 – profit in the amount of 8,54 mil lei, in 2017 losses in the amount of 190,4 million lei<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

However, in 2021, long-distance flights to the US, Canada, China, and medium-distance flights are expected. In addition, it is planned to have frequencies on a number of existing destinations increased. These activities will be based on mutual flows of passenger traffic between CIS and European countries, thus transforming Chisinau Airport into an international aviation hub.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
