23 January 2018- The Deputy Prime-Minister for European Integration of Moldova, Iurie Leanc\u0103, paid a visit to the European Commission and the European Parliament.<\/p>\n

During his meeting with EU’s High-Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini, Leanc\u0103 reportedly informed<\/a> about implementing reforms stipulated by the Association Agreement, in particular, the justice reform, the usage of the DCFTA potential and fulfilling the conditions for macro-financial assistance.<\/p>\n

In response, HR Mogherini\u00a0highlighted the importance of following the recommendations of international partners in key areas related to reforms and democracy in the country. As the press release of the EEAS reads<\/a>,\u00a0the EU is closely following developments with regard to the electoral framework, the media sector, and the major banking fraud unveiled in 2014, where essential tasks such as criminal investigations and recovering misappropriated funds have not been completed.<\/em><\/p>\n

In addition, Mogherini emphasized that Moldova’s progress in key reform areas such as the judiciary and the fight against corruption is needed for the Association Agreement to be beneficial for all Moldovans.<\/p>\n
