The leader of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS), Maia Sandu, sent an open letter to the national broadcaster, Teleradio-Moldova, asking its director for hosting a one-hour show for the political parties to present their positions.<\/p>\n

In a Facebook post<\/a> with a reference to the open letter, Sandu underlines that the leadership of Teleradio-Moldova (TVM) has not notified her party about any concept or proposal since the middle of September when the main opposition parties requested broadcasting time to present their position the\u00a0national level. The PAS leader argues that the public broadcasting company must\u00a0act democratically, to ensure pluralism of opinions and equidistant informing of the population<\/em>, as the Audiovisual Code and the journalistic ethics stipulate.<\/p>\n

She reminded that, after the recent debate with the Parliament speaker Candu<\/a>,\u00a0 she and other her party colleagues were not invited at all to the national TV channel. Sandu rhetorically asks whether TVM decided to not organize any more debates like the “Hour of Parties” because of the apparent incompetence of the government representatives or because it is waiting for another “order” from the latter.<\/p>\n
