On October 3rd, the Democrat leader, Vlad Plahotniuc, announced<\/a> that his party is determined to make political alliances with any right-wing party\u00a0<\/em>that will surpass the threshold and that the Democrats (PDM) are not going to fight against the parties who support the European path of Moldova.<\/p>\n

According to Plahotniuc, his party is willing to cooperate even with the opposition parties because of the low ratings of the pro-Europeans before 2018 elections:<\/p>\n

“The uninspired way these parties make an opposition is seriously taxed by the electorate. If we do not change the approach in the upcoming period, next year we can wake up in front of an extremely dangerous situation for the future of the Republic of Moldova”<\/em>, said Plahotniuc, allegedly waving with the typical threat of Russia’s growing influence in Moldova.<\/p>\n

Anticipating recent rejections by the Maia Sandu’s PAS<\/a>, the oligarch already had a response to the parties that totally oppose any cooperation with his Democrats:<\/p>\n

“I would like to tell those who will rush to say that PDM offers a poisoned apple through this positioning that this apple could actually contain a lot of vitamins”<\/em>, said Plahotniuc.<\/p>\n

In response, Action and Solidarity Party leader, Maia Sandu, called<\/a> on her supporters not be manipulated and reiterated her party’s firm position not to make any alliance with oligarchic and anti-European parties.<\/p>\n
