The decision is based on a recent case started against Brega, who investigated a case of abuse of power of a state employee.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;The public servant, being drunk, was threatening an economic agent that he would destroy his business if the former refused to serve him out of working hours. When I tried to get a reaction, one of the superiors of the official, Vice-Pretor V.Ur\u00e2tu, insulted me and kicked me in my back with the leg. My instinctive reaction of defense was taken as an attempt of disturbing the activity of the district administration so that a case based on &#8220;Hooliganism&#8221; the 1st paragraph of the 287th article of the Penal Code of Moldova&#8221;,\u00a0<\/em>declared Brega, adding that his complaint was not examined until now. Moreover, he was not even announced in advance about his case.<\/p>\n<p>Right now, he cannot challenge the decision of the police, because he did not receive any order on the case.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;In the light of the recent events, I declare myself persecuted by the authorities of the Republic of Moldova for political reasons and an eventual arrest of mine would endanger my life since the authorities from Chi\u0219in\u0103u are not able to provide an equitable justice&#8221;<\/em>, believes Brega.<\/p>\n<p>Ghenadie Brega previously led the civil rights group &#8220;Hyde Park&#8221; during Communists&#8217; Party rule between 2001-2009, when it was one of the starting apolitical protest\u00a0groups in Moldova.
