Nevertheless, asked about whether the item on foreign military forces in the Republic of Moldova referred to Russian troops, the Spokesperson\u00a0<em>did not speculate further on the nationality of the \u201cforeign military forces\u201d-\u00a0<\/em>a fact that even Russia publicly acknowledges.<\/p>\n<p>In a press release, the Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mfa.gov.md\/comunicate-presa-md\/509109\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reiterated<\/a> that the request is included in the list of additional items for the UN GA Agenda and that it would be examined at a session of the General Committee in October.<\/p>\n<p>Besides the 402 so-called peacekeepers, Russia holds the Operative Group of the Russian Forces in the Transnistrian region of Moldova containing approximately 1200 regular soldiers, mainly recruited among locals.
