According to Deschide.md<\/a>, the citizens of Moldova will be able to more efficiently access the administrative services within increased quality of government services. This will be possible thanks to a $20 million grant for the “Government Service Modernization” project, which was approved yesterday by the World Bank’s Executive Board, according to a press release from the financial institution.<\/p>\n

Anna Akhalkatsi, director of the World Bank from Moldova, declared:<\/p>\n

“THE PROJECT concerning the MODERNIZATION OF the GOVERNMENT SERVICES WILL IMPROVE its QUALITY AND ACCESS TO PUBLIC SERVICES. WE believe THAT THIS PROJECT will solve GOVERNANCE PROBLEMS, As well as CONTRIBUTE TO THE GROWTH OF THE CONFIDENCE people have IN PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS “<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The project is in line with the priorities such as poverty reduction and the promotion of shared prosperity in Moldova. All of these are identified in the World Bank’s Country-Specific Systemic Diagnosis of 2016 and the objectives of the Public Administration Reform Strategy in Moldova for the period 2016-2020.<\/p>\n

Since the Republic of Moldova joined the World Bank in 1992, over 1 billion US dollars have been allocated for about 60 operations in the country. Currently, the World Bank portfolio includes 9 active projects, the total amount of commitments amounting to 358.5 million US dollars. The areas of support include regulatory reform and business development, tax administration, education, roads, healthcare, agriculture, adaptation to climate change and others.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
