Investigative actions were immediately initiated by the operational group within the Inspectorate.<\/p>\n<p>The police found out that the plants were grown and cared for by two individuals aged 50, living in the same building. The camouflaged plants were growing in the garden of the house.<\/p>\n<p>The hemp and poppy plants were sealed for a following expertise, the rest of the plants being destroyed by suspects on the spot.\u00a0Depending on the results of the investigations, suspects may be prosecuted and punished by a fine ranging from 19,000 lei to 25,000 lei, or up to 2 years of imprisonment.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/politiacapitalei.md\/videos\/818987541604727\/\">https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/politiacapitalei.md\/videos\/818987541604727\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n<p>According to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.emcdda.europa.eu\/countries\/moldova\">EMCDDA<\/a>, the National Drug Observatory (NDO) is located within\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnms.md\/\">the National Centre of Health Management\u00a0<\/a>of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Moldova. It was established in 2004, following the Order of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Moldova nr.164 of 18 May 2004. The main functions of the NDO include the development of an annual report on the drug situation in the Republic of Moldova for national and international partners, participation in the implementation of the National Anti-Drug Strategies and associated National Anti-Drug Action Plans, and presentation of informative notes on the use and trafficking of illicit drugs at the request of internal and external partners.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Cannabis remains the main substance seized in the Republic of Moldova, followed by opiates and synthetic stimulants.
