Aged between 13 and 17 years old, 21 minors who are begging on the streets in the center of the capital are in the sight of the lawyers. They are from Chi\u015fin\u0103u, Ialoveni, Anenii Noi, Criuleni, Basarabeasca, C\u0103lar\u0103\u015fi and Nisporeni, and although they are handed over to their parents, they come back to the streets.<\/p>\n

According to the law, they are usually found and taken to the Inspectorate in order to be identified and handed over to parents or local public authorities. Still, they later return to the streets after abandoning their home or the Placement Center for Juveniles.<\/p>\n

At the same time, proactive discussions in the context of preventing and combating juvenile delinquency are held by juvenile safety inspectors, before they’re finally handed over to the local public authorities.<\/p>\n

All the actions started by the Police are brought to the attention for attitude and risk prevention, as the minors return to the streets and resort to acts such as hooliganism, theft or robbery.<\/p>\n

Under the current legislation, it is worth mentioning that the police apply sanctions to parents for failing to maintain, educate and train the children after they have been traced to the street and handed over to the families. At the same time, there are social assistance services provided for parents’ attitudes and documentation.<\/p>\n
