Accordingly, the Democratic Party, together with the Socialists&#8217; Party, led by Vladimir Plahotniuc,\u00a0<em>have chosen to strengthen autocracy<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Daul and van Baalen are particularly concerned about the intimidation of pro-European opponents after the Democrats and the Socialists of Moldova passed the electoral reform law disregarding the recommendations of the Venice Commission. More specifically, the European politicians gave as example of selective justice the detention of the mayor of Chi\u0219in\u0103u, Dorin Chirtoac\u0103.
