On June 13th, the Government of Moldova approved a series of changes in the legislation regulating the authorization of business activity. The modifications would reportedly<\/a> reduce the number of necessary acts by 150.<\/p>\n

Moreover, the new register of permissive acts was divided in three distinct components, by economic domain: authorizations, certificates and licences.<\/p>\n

Finally, the authorities would be excluded from the right to reject a demand of an economic agent without reason and would be obliged to present a response in maximum 30 days.<\/p>\n

According to the preliminary calculations, the modifications would cut the annual expenses in the private sector by some 43,6 million lei and 18,4 million lei for the public sector. The changes must be examined and adopted by the Parliament before entering into force.<\/p>\n

On the same day, the Cabinet adopted<\/a> the modifications on the responsibilities of the control authorities: the National Agency for Food Safety, the Agency for Consumer Protection and Market Supervision, the State Labour Inspectorate. The Food Safety Agency would overtake the alcohol production and public health monitoring under its control with the exception of the checks on baby and child food, drinking water and other health services. The Agency for Consumer Protection would also overtake the control over tourism services. The Labour Inspectorate would only supervise the labour relations and contracts.<\/p>\n
