President Igor Dodon and Democrat leader Vladimir Plahotniuc were the main subjects of the slogans and messages, because they initiated the electoral reform, either from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.moldova.org\/en\/moldova-president-igor-dodon-proposes-mixed-electoral-system\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">one point<\/a> or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.moldova.org\/en\/democratic-party-proposes-uninominal-voting-system-moldova-opposition-liberals-oppose\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">another<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Igor Bo\u021ban, one of the speakers at the protest and executive director of the Association for Participatory Democracy, brought up that even the polls of the Democrats show only 16% of support for change of the electoral system. Other speakers, including Platform &#8220;Dignity and Truth&#8221; leader Andrei N\u0103stase, declared that the switch to mixed or uninominal system would lead to monopolization of the political sphere by the Democrats, who control the administrative and justice systems in the country and the Socialists, who have large support in some regions of Moldova.<\/p>\n<p>A part of the protesting crowd aggressively confronted the crew of Publika TV associated with the Democrat oligarch Plahotniuc.
