A bailiff, acquitted last year in the case of the “Russian Laundromat”, was condemned to 5 years of imprisonment and was given a 10 years ban from occupying public positions. The decision was made by Chi\u0219in\u0103u Appeal Court on June 9th, after the inquiry of the prosecutors was accepted.<\/p>\n

Accused<\/a> of abuse of service with serious consequences, the bailiff was illegally executing and falsifying the orders issued by Courts of Centru, Ciocana, R\u00ee\u0219cani, Buiucani, Botanica (Chi\u0219in\u0103u), Comrat, C\u0103u\u0219eni, Drochia, Ungheni, Telene\u0219ti, as well as by Economic Circumscription Court.<\/p>\n

Between March 2011 and January 2014, the bailiff illegally accepted more than 40 orders of execution, even in the case of non-resident debtors. Without sending the preliminary letter, receiving the confirmation and its publishing in the Official Monitor of Moldova, the person was committing illegal actions. In the same period, the bailiff ordered to transfer financial resources of about 211 billion Moldovan lei from correspondent accounts of Russian banks in Moldindconbank in favor of the non-resident creditors.<\/p>\n
