On May 4th, the National Bank of Moldova (BNM) presented the 2nd Inflation Report<\/a> for 2017.<\/p>\n

According to it, the annual inflation rate constituted 4,3% in the first three months of 2017, 1,8% more than in the previous three months.\u00a0BNM mentions that, in March, the inflation rate increased to 5,1%, reentering the targeted interval.<\/p>\n

The National Bank stresses that the increasing inflation is due to the sudden increasing prices of medical services, the adjustment of some product taxes, some pressures from the behalf of aggregate demand and the increasing prices of petrol products. The Bank was taken by surprise with the increase of medical costs, which it didn’t anticipate and mention in the 1st Inflation Report for 2017.<\/p>\n

The Naitonal Bank projects that the annual inflation rate will go over the targeted interval up to even 8,1% rate in the last three months of 2017, but then decrease in 2018 to 4,1% at the end of next year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
