On April 12th, the Federation of the Education and Science of Moldova (FSE\u0218) announced<\/a> about organizing a general strike of teachers, professors and researchers at the end of April.<\/p>\n

According to the union leader Dumitru Ivanov, the protest, expected to happen on 28 of April, will involve over 2600 education institutions from the entire Moldova, far more than the protests from\u00a0April 5th<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“We are using this protest action because our demands were not met by the government to a big extent. The authorities promised that they would raise the salaries in autumn with only 5% for teaching personnel and with 10% for non-teaching personnel. We consider that this increase is insufficient, because 40% of the employees in the education system have a salary slightly over 1100 lei\u00a0<\/em>(55 USD- Moldova.ORG)”,\u00a0specified Ivanov.<\/p>\n
