–\u00a0Moldova President Igor Dodon signs cooperation agreement with the Eurasian Economic Commission<\/strong><\/p>\n

On 3 April 2017, Chi\u0219in\u0103u hosted the international forum \u201cEurasian Economic Union-Republic of Moldova\u201d, organized<\/a> by the Moldovan President Igor Dodon interested in cooperation with the respective union.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

With more than 250 participants from the Eurasian Economic Union, Russia, Eurasian Bank for Development and other institutions, the forum culminated with the signing of the cooperation agreement by the President Dodon and the head of the College of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Tigran Sarkisyan.<\/p>\n

–\u00a0Accused of power abuse, Moldova Deputy Economy Minister resigns<\/strong><\/p>\n

On April 5th, the Government of Moldova approved<\/a> the request of Valeriu Triboi to quit the position of Vice-Minister of Economy. The resignation follows his arrest in a case of abuse of power and damage to the state budget.<\/p>\n

–\u00a0Two MPs leave Liberal caucus in Moldova Parliament<\/strong><\/p>\n

On April 5th, two members of the Liberal Party in\u00a0Moldova\u2019s Parliament announced about their departure from the party. Artur Gutium and Vladimir Cernat motivated their decision with some\u00a0\u201cactions not corresponding to a liberal party and to an internal democracy\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n

Gutium<\/a> and Cernat<\/a> stressed that they would become unaffiliated MPs in the Moldovan Parliament, guided by the electoral program they were elected for.<\/p>\n

–\u00a0Ukraine and Moldova police prevented assassination of Democrat oligarch Vlad Plahotniuc<\/strong><\/p>\n

On April 7th, the head of the Ukrainian Police, Sergey Knyazev, together with the Minister of Interior of Ukraine, Arsen Avakov, announced<\/a> about the end of a joint operation with Moldova to prevent the assassination of the Moldovan oligarch Vlad Plahotniuc.
\nAccording to Minister Avakov, the operation conducted at around 14 (GMT+2) in both Moldova and Ukraine ended with the arrests of the organizers of the assassination of\u00a0the, quote,\u00a0the former Vice Speaker\u00a0of Moldova and the biggest oligarch of Moldova,\u00a0<\/em>now-businessman<\/em>, Vladimir Plahotniuc.<\/p>\n

Knyazev reported that the joint operation was conducted simultaneously in Kyiv, where the organizers were arrested, and in Chi\u0219in\u0103u, where the weapons and the money was held. The head of the Ukrainian police said that the proof would be sent to the prosecutors by the end of the day to start the full investigation of the matter.<\/p>\n
