The estimated population that was not included in the polls is 193 434 persons- thus making the total population <strong>2 998 235<\/strong> people.<\/p>\n<p>Just for comparison, the population in 2004 was\u00a0<strong>3 383 332<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The data shows that a total of <strong>2 804 801<\/strong> persons were registered through the census, out of which 209 030 are non-residents (7,5%) and 2 595 771 are usual residents.<\/p>\n<p>The biggest districts and municipalities, with a population of over 100 thousand people, are still Chi\u0219in\u0103u, B\u0103l\u021bi, UTA G\u0103g\u0103uzia, H\u00eence\u0219ti, Orhei and Ungheni. The least populated district is still Basarabeasca.<\/p>\n<p>In terms of gender, women make 51,8% of Moldova&#8217;s population and men 48,2%.<\/p>\n<p>When it comes to age, the share of persons under 16 constituted 18,4% in 2014, 2,7% than in 2004. The working age population (men 16-61, women 16-56) had a 63,1% in Moldova&#8217;s population, while the aged population increased to 18,5% (3,7% more than in 2004).<\/p>\n<p>Even the average age increased by 2,3 years- 37,6 years- 39,2 years for women and 35,8 for men.<\/p>\n<p>The 2014 census also included the census of households-\u00a0959 thousand in total.<\/p>\n<p>The census registered a decrease of the size of households- from 3 in 2004 to 2,9 persons in 2014. In 20 districts, the size was over the average: Ialoveni (3,4), UTA G\u0103g\u0103uzia (3,3), Cantemir (3,3), \u00a0Dub\u0103sari (3,3), etc. The smallest households could be found in Dondu\u0219eni (2,4), Ocni\u021ba (2,5), Briceni (2,6), etc.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.statistica.md\/public\/files\/Recensamint\/Recensamint_pop_2014\/Rezultate\/RPL_3.PNG\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In 2014, 38% of the households had children under 18 (7% less than in 2004), predominantly with one child (53,8%) and two children (35,6%).<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.statistica.md\/public\/files\/Recensamint\/Recensamint_pop_2014\/Rezultate\/RPL_4.PNG\" \/><\/p>\n<p>According to the results, 33,7 thousand people lived in collective households in 2014, a bit more compared to 2004- 26,5 thousand people. Moreover, 79,2% lived in individual houses, 20,8% lived in flats and 0,2% lived in unlivable spaces.
