The latter think that this Constitution change\u00a0<em>&#8220;would favor the abuses towards the opposition deputies&#8221;,\u00a0<\/em>suggesting that the prosecution and justice systems controlled by the Democratic party would endanger their autonomy. The Liberal-Democrats criticized the proposal for the poor description, but voted in favor of it, saying that they\u00a0<em>&#8220;don&#8217;t fear anything&#8221;.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The draft law proposes to eliminate the 3rd paragraph of the 70th article of the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova. Currently, the deputy cannot be retained, arrested, searched except for the cases of obvious felony, or sent to court without the approval of the Parliament and after a hearing.<\/p>\n<p>Some Socialists, like Vasile Bolea, seemed worried about the well-being of deputies after the law is adopted, but Democrat Sergiu S\u00e2rbu assured him that\u00a0<em>no hair\u00a0<\/em>will fall from Bolea&#8217;s head. Bolea was not content with the answer:<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Assurances are given only by God and insurance companies. You are neither of them&#8221;,\u00a0<\/em>said Bolea.<\/p>\n<p>Another Socialist, Vladimir \u021aurcan, pointed out that the amendments introduced in the first lecture need to be consulted with the Constitutional Court and even the Venice Commission, blaming the Democrats for showing off in front of the voters. \u021aurcan stressed that the law would not pass over the second lecture.<\/p>\n<p>In order to be fully adopted, a Constitution change needs the vote of at least 71 out of 101 deputies of the Moldovan Parliament.
