Seems like the Moldovan President Igor Dodon and the Government coalition led by the Democratic Party, opponents in public, started to cooperate in sharing spheres of influence and positions.<\/p>\n

On March 2nd, Dodon met Prime-Minister Pavel Filip to discuss the objections towards the initial list of new Ambassadors<\/a> proposed by the Government. According to the press-release of the Presidency<\/a>, the two officials talked about the recalling of 10 Ambassadors and the appointing of another 17.<\/p>\n

It is worth mentioning that Dodon proposed his foreign policy adviser and current Socialist deputy, Andrei Negu\u021b\u0103 (cover photo), for the position of Ambassador of Moldova to the Russian Federation, instead of the just-recalled Dumitru Braghi\u0219<\/a>. Negu\u021b\u0103 had previously been in the same position from 2009 till 2012. According to Andrey Devyatkov from the Post-Soviet Research Center of the Economic Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences<\/a>, the dismissal of the Democrat-friendly Braghi\u0219 was requested by Dodon who wanted a friendlier former colleague as the main envoy to Russia. Moreover, the Democrats would agree to it, in order to separate spheres of influence and activity in the foreign and trade policies.<\/p>\n

The other confirmed candidate Ambassadors are:<\/p>\n

– Aurel CIOCOI \u2013 Ambassador in the United States of America, current Ambassador in People’s Republic of China;
\n– Victor SOROCEAN \u2013 Ambassador in the Republic of Belarus, current Socialist deputy;
\n– Victor OSIPOV \u2013 Ambassador in the Republic of Austria, former Reintegration Minister, former campaign manager of the Democratic Party in 2014 elections;
\n– Emil DRUC \u2013 Ambassador in the French Republic, current head of Multinational Cooperation Department of the MFA;
\n– Victor MORARU \u2013 Permanent Representative at the\u00a0UN, current deputy of Emil Druc;
\n– Anatol VANGHELI \u2013 Ambassador in Greece, current Secretary General of the MFA;
\n– Violeta AGRICI \u2013 Ambassador in Spain,\u00a0current head of the Consular Affairs Department of the MFA.<\/p>\n
