While the prosecutor Andrei B\u0103ie\u0219u said that the witnesses made important statements, the defendant Eduard Rudenco mentioned that they did not\u00a0<em>shed light or opened anything new\u00a0<\/em>in the case. Rudenco seemed\u00a0sure that the bankers did not reveal any link to Platon. He also added that he would submit a request to allow his client to be present during his trial.<\/p>\n<p><code><iframe src=\"http:\/\/www.realitatea.md\/embed\/53058.html\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/code><\/p>\n<p>Veaceslav Platon is accused of benefiting from non-performant loans from the former Banca de Economii in value of 800 million lei: 130 million lei, 12 million USD and 5 million euros. He was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.moldova.org\/en\/veaceslav-platon-arrested-secret-services-ukraine\/\" target=\"_blank\">arrested<\/a> by the SBU of Ukraine on July 25th.\u00a0Businessman Veaceslav Platon was extradited from Ukraine to Moldova on August 29th 2016 with a charter flight, for which the Moldovan Interior Ministry claimed to have paid only 1690 US dollars.
