On February 20th, the Moldovan President Igor Dodon announced that he would organize a scientific conference in Chi\u0219in\u0103u on the topic “The statehood of Moldova: historical continuity and development perspectives”. The conference will reportedly take place during 24-25 March and will gather around 100 experts from 11 states.<\/p>\n

According to Dodon, the topics to be discussed are: historical approach towards the continuity of the Moldovan state, social-economic development of Moldova in different historical periods, the theory of state genesis, the law from the perspectives of the countries represented at the conference and others.<\/p>\n

“We will wait for experts, representatives of the academic world, of the civil society, the political parties from the country and outside. We have the confirmation of participation from already 100 people from the Republic of Moldova and other 11 states like Italy, France Germany, Romania, Ukraine, the Russian Federation, etc.”,\u00a0<\/em>added Dodon.<\/p>\n

Recently, the Moldovan President Igor Dodon proposed<\/a> to make the date of February 2nd the day of Statehood Day of Moldova. As a true Moldovenist, he argues that the date is important for the Moldovan statehood- on 2 February 1365, the Moldovan Principality was founded by Bogdan I, a fact doubted by some historians.<\/p>\n
