Rudenco added that, on February 10th, Platon was beaten in the prison he is detained in, and that the traces of beating are visible.<\/p>\n<p><iframe width=\"740\" height=\"555\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/DFuBOeuNEFY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The lawyers are also complaining that the authorities block their access to the documents of the trial and to their client. Ple\u0219ca said that they were refused to visit Platon on February 16th, because the latter was <em>&#8220;refusing a medical examination&#8221;<\/em>. In his turn, lawyer Ion Cre\u021bu declared that the beating of Platon and the restriction on the visits are conducted after the lawyers discovered a video camera in their clients&#8217; cell on February 13th.<\/p>\n<p>On the other side, the prosecutor investigating Platon, Andrei B\u0103ie\u0219u, thinks that the accused one is just simulating his disease and that the absence of the lawyers at the session on February 15th is just to prolong the trial.<\/p>\n<p>Veaceslav Platon is accused of benefiting from non-performant loans from the former Banca de Economii in value of 800 million lei: 130 million lei, 12 million USD and 5 million euros. He was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.moldova.org\/en\/veaceslav-platon-arrested-secret-services-ukraine\/\" target=\"_blank\">arrested<\/a> by the SBU of Ukraine on July 25th.\u00a0Businessman Veaceslav Platon was extradited from Ukraine to Moldova on August 29th 2016 with a charter flight, for which the Moldovan Interior Ministry claimed to have paid only 1690 US dollars.
