According to the head of the Pridnestrovian Moldovan Republic Bank, Cladislav Tidva, the currency crisis in the region was caused by the energy intermediary that reportedly transferred some 20 million US dollars to off-shores in 2015, making the US dollar scarce and causing the decrease of currency reserves and price increases.<br \/>\nTidva says that the gas price for Energokapital will be increased and that the direct exports of electricity to Moldova will be resumed.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.moldova.org\/en\/black-sea-euenergy-supplier-transnistria-linked-theft-one-billion\/\" target=\"_blank\">Energokapital is an<\/a> intermediary company that pays the Cuciurgan (Kuchurgan-cover foto) gas-powered plant situated in the unrecognized republic of Transnistria to produce electricity. The profit is up to 400%, according to the expert Sergiu Tofilat.
