Thus, Igor Dodon is confirmed to be the new President of the Republic of Moldova. Former speaker of the Supreme Soviet of the un-recognized Pridnestrovian Moldovan Republic won 157410 votes of the people of Transnistria. Both Russian Ministers declared, through Muhametshin, that the new president of the region will facilitate the continuation of Russian-Transnistrian projects and will strengthen the interaction.<\/p>\n<p>-On December 16th, the Parliament of Moldova <a href=\"http:\/\/www.moldova.org\/en\/moldova-parliament-approves-capital-liberalization-law-despite-protests-civil-society\/\" target=\"_blank\">approved<\/a> in the first lecture the so-called laws of capital liberalization and fiscal stimulation. Moreover, the enterprises would be exempted from paying penalties, fees and unpaid taxes. Everything in exchange for a 2% tax.<br \/>\n30 NGOs of Moldova <a href=\"http:\/\/www.moldova.org\/en\/30-ngos-moldova-condemn-capital-liberalization-law-upsetting-anti-corruption-efforts-discouraging-honest-taxpayers\/\" target=\"_blank\">condemned<\/a> the capital liberalization and fiscal stimulation laws for \u201cupsetting anti-corruption efforts and discouraging honest taxpayers\u201d, while Maia Sandu, former Presidential candidate, declared the laws would legalize the stolen money and would leave the responsible unpunished.<\/p>\n<p>-On December 14th, the Government of Moldova <a href=\"http:\/\/www.moldova.org\/en\/moldova-government-receive-e41-million-loan-eib-ungheni-chisinau-gas-pipeline\/\" target=\"_blank\">approved<\/a> the loan agreement with the European Investment Bank (EIB) for the project of \u201cConstruction Gas Transportation Pipeline Ungheni-Chi\u0219in\u0103u\u201d. The project is the second part of the interconnection of gas transportation system between Romania and Moldova, aimed at improving energy security.<br \/>\n41 million euros would be given by the EIB to the Government of Moldova that will allocate the resources to VestMoldTransGaz for the construction of the pipeline, a 113 million euros project.<\/p>\n<p>-The European Union <a href=\"http:\/\/www.moldova.org\/en\/eu-offer-e79-million-capacity-building-moldovan-civil-society-e485-million-public-administration-development\/\" target=\"_blank\">will offer<\/a> \u20ac7,9 million for capacity building of Moldovan civil society and  \u20ac4,85 million for public administration development in Moldova.<br \/>\n7,9 million euros would be used for projects of development and capacity building of the civil society in Moldova, strengthening NGOs\u2019 role in the policy making and decision-making processes, but also in processes related to the Association between Moldova and the EU. The NGOs will have to apply for funding of their projects related to one of the strategic domains: good governance, economic and social development, social cohesion through improving the system of social services.<br \/>\nOther 4,85 million euros will be allocated for projects of the Twinning program, through which public institutions from EU membership candidates, including Moldova, will work together in the application and implementation of the Community Acquis. The funds will also be used for institutional development and public acquisitions in the domains of environmental protection, justice, energy, transportation and education.<\/p>\n<p>-On December 15th, the Parliament of Moldova <a href=\"http:\/\/www.moldova.org\/en\/ex-pm-vlad-filat-deprived-deputy-seat-parliament-moldova\/\" target=\"_blank\">voted a decision to deprive<\/a> former Prime-Minister Vlad Filat of his deputy seat, motivating it with the ending of lawful position of deputy.<\/p>\n<p>-On December 14th, Igor Popa, the lawyer of the former Prime-Minister of Moldova Vlad Filat, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.moldova.org\/en\/moldova-ex-pm-vlad-filat-go-supreme-court-justice\/\" target=\"_blank\">declared<\/a> he would ask for his full acquittal and freeing at the Supreme Court of Justice. Popa says that, in case the Supreme Court does not make \u201cjustice\u201d, he would attack the decision at the European Court for Human Rights, on the behalf of Filat.<br \/>\nPopa thinks that the motivated decision of the Appeal Court Chi\u0219in\u0103u in Filat\u2019s case is \u201cillegal, absolutely incompetently written, unmotivated and puts at basis unreliable proof\u201d.<br \/>\nMoreover, Filat\u2019s lawyer found that the Appeal Court \u201coperated with untruths, false information and included them in the decision\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>-Moldova\u2019s de facto ruler, &#8220;billionaire Vladimir Plahotniuc, feels seriously threatened by the uncompromising Sandu, but not by Dodon&#8221;, writes <a href=\"https:\/\/jamestown.org\/program\/moldovas-de-facto-ruler-enthrones-pro-russia-president\/\" target=\"_blank\">Vladimir Socor<\/a> at Jamestown Foundation. Socor thinks that Plahotniuc used his media outlets to ensure Dodon&#8217;s victory by attacking Sandu.<br \/>\nMoreover, the ruling oligarch w<a href=\"https:\/\/jamestown.org\/program\/moldovan-legislative-changes-reinforce-state-capture\/\" target=\"_blank\">ould be using<\/a> this six-week presidential interregnum until Dodon&#8217;s inauguration to drive through a series of laws designed to reinforce his grip and that of his clients on state institutions. Through acting President Timofti and the Parliamentary majority he controls, Plahotniuc would approve the new General Prosecutor Eduard Harunjen, the capital liberalization and fiscal stimulation laws and the transfer of the Security and Intelligence Service from President&#8217;s control to Parliament&#8217;s.<\/p>\n<p>-With the election of Vadim Krasnoselski as president of the separatist Transnistria, Chi\u0219in\u0103u will not see any different policy from the Pridnestrovian Moldovan Republic than that of integration of the region into EU market, thinks <a href=\"https:\/\/jamestown.org\/program\/transnistria-change-leadership-not-policy\/\" target=\"_blank\">Mihai Pop\u0219oi<\/a> at Jamestown Foundation.<br \/>\nPop\u0219oi stresses that the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement between Moldova and the EU, &#8220;along with decreasing Russian assistance, which only exacerbates the already dire economic conditions in the region, could prompt the new Transnistrian leadership to become more lenient toward a mutually feasible settlement. Still, this remains a long-term prospect.
