On December 14th, Igor Popa, the lawyer of the former Prime-Minister of Moldova Vlad Filat, declared he would ask for his full acquittal and freeing at the Supreme Court of Justice. Popa says that, in case the Supreme Court does not make “justice”, he would attack the decision at the European Court for Human Rights, on the behalf of Filat.<\/p>\n

Popa thinks that the motivated decision of the Appeal Court Chi\u0219in\u0103u in Filat’s case is “illegal, absolutely incompetently written, unmotivated and puts at basis unreliable proof”<\/em>.
\nMoreover, Filat’s lawyer found that the Appeal Court “operated with untruths, false information and included them in the decision”, such as the testimony of some “Frunze witness”, who was reportedly never cited and never presented any statement.
\nSpeaking about Victor Bodiu’s declaration on a meeting with a person called Neumyvakin in February 2013, Popa found that the official registries of entries do not contain any information about the entering of any Neumyvakin between 1 January 2013 and 1 November 2016 in Moldova.<\/p>\n

Popa hopes that the judges of the Supreme Court of Justice will properly analyze the facts: “We want to believe that the Supreme Court will prove its professionalism and will repair the serious violations made by the inferior courts.”<\/em><\/p>\n
