The candidacy would be therefore proposed to the President of Moldova for approval.<\/p>\n<p>Eduard Harunjen held until recently the position of first deputy Prosecutor General and exercised the function of interim Prosecutor General, after the former one resigned <a href=\"http:\/\/www.moldova.org\/en\/general-prosecutor-of-moldova-resigns-due-to-new-law-approved-by-the-parliament\/\" target=\"_blank\">on February 26th<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On November 25th, the Parliament of Moldova <a href=\"http:\/\/www.moldova.org\/en\/moldova-parliament-adopts-change-constitution-designation-prosecutor-general-president\/\" target=\"_blank\">adopted<\/a> with the vote of 84 deputies the change of the procedure of designating the prosecutor general. The future Prosecutor General of Moldova would thus be approved by the President at the proposal of the Supreme Council of Prosecutors and will have a non-renewable mandate of 7 years. The President would be able to reject the candidate prosecutor general only once, but the refusal should be motivated.
