The President-elect of Moldova, Igor Dodon, complains that his political opponents Andrei N\u0103stase and Maia Sandu are blocking his inauguration by submitting complaints on the results of the Presidential elections to the courts.

\n“I discussed with the President of the Constitutional Court and he told me that not all complaints were passed to the final procedure: they should be debated until the final decision of the Supreme Court of Justice. Thus, my opponents, directly or indirectly, are blocking the final decision regarding the elections. I don’t know whether they realize this or not, but they play government’s game”<\/em>, declared Dodon on December 6th.<\/p>\n

Dodon thinks the governing coalition or even “someone from the West” is telling his former counter-candidate Sandu and N\u0103stase to keep him from blocking some “antisocial” reforms of the current government: the reform of the pensioning system including the raise of pensioning age, the opening of a NATO office, the designation of the future Prosecutor General. <\/p>\n

The former Socialist asked his opponents to assume this block and consequently, all the urgent designations made by the current government. <\/p>\n

“The Constitution clearly states that after 45 days from the election day, the President should take oath of office. Thus, I ask the Constitutional Court to convene in urgent regime after all the attack attempts are done. On December 27th, I need to take oath of office and enter my rights”<\/em>, added Dodon.<\/p>\n

Igor Dodon was elected by 834081 people, or 52,11%, as President of Moldova. His counter-candidate, Maia Sandu, and civil society organizations found several electoral frauds such as organized transportation of voters, while at least 3000 Moldovans<\/a> could not vote abroad on November 13th.
