On December 5th, the Government of Moldova approved the law of state budget for 2017, proposed by the Ministry of Finance. <\/p>\n

The Moldovan Government expects<\/a> 3% economic growth, 10% increase in exports and 9% in imports.
\nThe draft law states that the incomes to the state budget will increase by 11% to a total of 32,8 billion lei, increase mainly caused by higher taxes and bigger grants (2,91 billion lei<\/a>).
\nThe expenditures will rise by 9% to 36,9 billion lei, due to the raise of salaries, additional spending on reforms and payment of state debts.
\nThe deficit of 4,155 billion lei will be reportedly financed through privatization, sale of assets belonging to the three failed banks, issuing of bonds, but also with external loans and external finance for projects (2,735 billion lei).
\nAround 73 infrastructure projects are expected to be implemented in 2017.<\/p>\n

State debt 2017 will constitute 60,8 billion lei, with an increase of 12,8%, compared to 2016. The external debt will constitute 1,89 billion US dollars, increasing by 19,7%.<\/p>\n

The Cabinet of Ministers also approved the law<\/a> on social insurance budget for 2017, with 9,8% and 9,6% increase of income and spending respectively in the sector. The Government will be expected to implement indexation of pensions with 6,8%, increase of child benefit, indexation of scholarships for students and increase by 50% of benefit for young state employees.<\/p>\n

The health insurance program for 2017 was approved<\/a> on the same day, predicting incomes of 6,141 billion lei and expenditures of 6,234 billion lei with a 92 million lei deficit. The quota of personal contribution stays at 9% level or 4056 lei.<\/p>\n

The draft laws are expected to be examined, modified and approved by the Parliament by the end of 2016.<\/p>\n
