The change in the Constitution now waiting to be approved in Parliament of Moldova states that the President, probably the newly elected Igor Dodon, will designate the head of the prosecution system at the proposal of the Superior Council of Prosecutors in a public contest. <\/p>\n<p>The decision was made by the Parliamentary caucus of the Socialists&#8217; Party, where Igor Dodon was present. <\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;The Prosecutor General designated by the President of the Republic of Moldova must be someone professional, honest, incorruptible, courageous and independent from the oligarchic system and the party transactions. He must finish the investigations in the cases of the &#8220;theft of the century&#8221;, the frauds at Banca de Economii and the concession of the Airport, those in regard to the secret voting in the Government, the defrauding of the loans and grants in massive proportions and other crimes of the regime&#8221;<\/em>, posted Dodon on his Facebook page.<\/p>\n<p>Dodon thinks this would be the first step in reforming the judicial system in Moldova.<\/p>\n<p>The new law <a href=\"http:\/\/www.moldova.org\/en\/general-prosecutor-of-moldova-resigns-due-to-new-law-approved-by-the-parliament\/\" target=\"_blank\">on Prosecution<\/a> states that the General Prosecutor of Moldova is now assigned by the President at the proposal of the Council of Prosecutors.
