The low turnout in voting centers located abroad\u00a0and the big win of the pro-Russian candidate Igor Dodon in the first round pushed Moldovans from all over the world to start caring about their vote for the future President.<\/p>\n<p>Created on November 1st, the group <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/327330864290265\/\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;Adopt a vote&#8221;<\/a> managed to gather over 25 thousand members of the Moldovan community living abroad who want to share rides to the few voting centers or to offer\/ask accommodation on November 13th. The Moldovans are discussing the possibilities to gather together to go to voting centers and the opportunities of hosting each other in cities with polling stations. Some of them even offer themselves as drivers, their cars and full fuel tanks to give rides to\u00a0those who live too far from voting centers.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Dear Moldovans, I am in Frankfurt and I know that there are a lot of you that do not have the possibility to come to voting because of the work or the money. Write me, please, and I will try to help you. I can come take you with my car if you are in the range of 100 km or I can buy you a train ticket. Previously Minister of Economy during the Communist regime after 2005, Dodon now claims to be an anti-oligarchic candidate, despite evidence of links with Democrat oligarch Plahotniuc.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.moldova.org\/en\/maia-sandu\/\" target=\"_blank\">Maia Sandu<\/a>, represents the recently founded Action and Solidarity Party, supports the continuation of the European Integration process for Moldova and promotes the anti-corruption fight together with the strengthening of the national education system. Former Education Minister, she\u00a0was now chosen as joint Presidential candidate of the center-right parties and even got a superficial endorsement by Plahotniuc himself, the latter being the main target for Sandu&#8217;s attacks.<\/p>\n<p>The Republic of Moldova is now holding its first Presidential elections in the last 20 years, after the Constitutional Court <a href=\"http:\/\/www.moldova.org\/en\/constitutional-court-moldova-president-elected-directly-people\/\" target=\"_blank\">canceled<\/a> an amendment from year 2000 in March 2016.
