On October 26th, the leader and Presidential candidate of the Democratic Party, Marian Lupu<\/a>, announced his retreat from the Presidential race of Moldova. Moreover, Lupu declared the support of the Democrats for the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) candidate, Maia Sandu<\/a>. <\/p>\n

“The advance of Maia Sandu is not spectacular, our chances are almost equal. There was an analysis that made us think and balance things part from party interests. We started from the interest that the elections must be won by a pro-European candidate. PAS candidate has more chances to win over Igor Dodon<\/a>“<\/em>, explained Lupu.<\/p>\n

Beside Lupu, the oligarch and Vice-President of the Democrat Party, Vlad Plahotniuc, also showed support for Sandu and called for the “consolidation of the European path for Moldova”<\/em>. Both Lupu and Plahotniuc asked the Democrat voters to show support for Maia Sandu through votes on October 30th.
