The Liberal candidate for the Presidency of Moldova, Mihai Ghimpu<\/a>, promises to ask the US government, able to conduct international investigation, to investigate the banking frauds from 2014. <\/p>\n

Ghimpu says that he consulted experts that told him that the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Federal Treasury of the US can conduct international investigation and, comparing to Kroll<\/a>, can even confiscate the stolen funds.<\/p>\n

“The fraud was done is US dollars. The Americans could find the money, could confiscate it, could start penal cases and prosecute those who stole the billion”<\/em>, declared Ghimpu on October 17th. <\/p>\n

The Liberal leader added that he would propose a law on extended confiscation, that would allow to take money from all those involved in the theft of one billion US dollars.<\/p>\n
