On October 4th, the Party of Socialists appealed to the Constitutional Court of Moldova to examine the way in which their no-confidence motion against Filip Government was treated, but also about the legality of the 7 controversial banking and budget laws<\/a> the same Government recently adopted. <\/p>\n

The Socialist leader and Presidential candidate Igor Dodon declared that the Monday session of the Parliament was illegal from various causes:
\n“First, the procedure of preparation of the session and the inclusion of the censure motion was not respected. There wasn’t any report or session of the Juridical Commission. We have big doubt about the legality of the session of the Permanent Bureau. The Constitution and the Parliament rules clearly read that the censure motion is examined in the first day of the session from the next week”<\/em>, said Dodon.<\/p>\n

Moreover, the Socialists think the laws that permit the payment of 13,5 billion lei of Government obligations to the National Bank for the unpaid loans taken by the failed banks are illegal, “both at the concept level, but also at the responsibility level”, taking in account that the Government assumed the laws without the consent of the Parliament.<\/p>\n

On the same day, acting President Nicolae Timofti signed<\/a> the decrees for the approval of the seven controversial laws, heavily disliked by the civil society.<\/p>\n
