A recent poll conducted by Intellect-Group<\/a> shows the current political preferences of the citizens of Moldova in the context of the upcoming Presidential elections. <\/p>\n

Asked whom they would vote at the Moldova Presidentials, 30,8% said they would vote for Socialist Igor Dodon, 12,2% for leader of Platform “Dignity and Truth” Andrei N\u0103stase, 11,8% for the Democrat Marian Lupu, 11,3% for former Education Minister Maia Sandu, 6,9% for former PM Iurie Leanc\u0103, 4,6% for “Our Party” candidate Dumitru Ciuba\u0219enco, 2,6% for the Liberal Mihai Ghimpu. 6% declared they would not vote at all, while 14,7% didn’t have a concrete answer.<\/p>\n

Asked about their political preferences in terms of parties, 25,6% of the respondents answered they would vote for the Party of Socialists, 12,5% for the Action and Solidarity Party, 12% for the Democratic Party, 11% for Platform “Dignity and Truth”, 8,4% for “Our Party”, 6% for the Party of Communists. The current Parliamentary parties such as the European People’s Party, Liberal Party and the Liberal-Democratic Party wouldn’t pass the threshold.

In terms of foreign policy orientation, 52% of people answered they would vote for adherence to the European Union (31% against, 10% undecided), while 48% would vote for joining the Customs Union (31% against, 12% undecided). Only 15% would vote for joining NATO, 58% opposing it.

To be more specific, the poll researchers asked the people to choose between voting for joining either the European Union or the Customs Union. 50% voted for the EU, 38% for the Customs Union, while 12% didn’t have an answer.
