The Presidential candidate of the governing Democrat Party, Marian Lupu, launched<\/a> his campaign at the State University of Moldova (USM) on September 30th. Surrounded by his father, wife and his Democrat fellows, Lupu gave a starting speech at the biggest university in the country, where he studied Economics. <\/p>\n

Lupu declared he would like a brotherly relation between the ethnicities of Moldova and that he would declared war against corruption in state institutions. According to him, the best way to raise the salaries and the living standard would be realized quicker by “advancing on the European path”.
\nThe slogan of his campaign was stated to be:
\n“I hear, I listen, I solve!”<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Several student organizations were outraged by the fact that Lupu used a public institution such as the State University of Moldova, thus “fundamentally” violating the Education Code and the USM Code. The students called for education to be distanced from the politics.<\/p>\n
