A new poll about the political preferences of the people of Moldova was published by the Association of Sociologists and Demographers on September 15th. The authors of the poll specified that it shows the voting preferences and not the exact appreciation, as the Presidential race didn’t start officially yet.<\/p>\n

Asked about the candidate they would vote for in case of Presidential elections on next Sunday, 29,0% of the respondents said they would vote for the Socialist leader Igor Dodon, 12,9% for the former Education Minister Maia Sandu and 11,1% for the leader of the Platform Dignity and Truth, Andrei N\u0103stase. <\/p>\n

The poll shows that the candidate of the governing Democratic Party, Marian Lupu, would get 9,9% of the votes. The former PM Iurie Leanc\u0103 would get 6,5% of the total support, while the candidate of “Our Party” would be voted by 2,9%. The Liberal leader Mihai Ghimpu wouldn’t get more than 1% of the votes. <\/p>\n

Asked about four historical, artistic or legendary personality suitable to be the President of the Republic of Moldova, 34% of the respondents chose \u0218tefan cel Mare, Vlad \u021aepe\u0219, Alexandru L\u0103pu\u0219neanu and Ivan Groznyi. <\/p>\n

\nAccording to the Vice-President of the Association, Andrei Dumbr\u0103veanu, the choice can be motivated by the need to have a “harsh justice that can make order in the country”, “an iron hand”. <\/p>\n
