On September 7th, the so-called president of the separatist Pridnestrovian Moldovan Republic, Evgeny Shevchuk, signed the decree<\/a> of “Implementation of the results of the republican referendum from 2006”. The referendum itself, recognized by 419 deputies of the Russian Duma, was focused on joining the Russian Federation, while the decree stipulates that the law system in Transnistria should be synchronized in accordance with the direction of “internal politics”. <\/p>\n

By signing the decree, Shevchuk gave directions to the law-makers and institutions to adopt the Russian legislation in financial, economical, tax and customs politics, social welfare, education and healthcare. The Russian federal law who would contradict the status of Transnistria would be neglected and not adopted. <\/p>\n

The head of the local government, Pavel Prokudin, is willing to comply<\/a> with the decree: “If we talk about Russia becoming our home, we should also live by the laws of that house”.<\/p>\n

The deputies of the ruling party “Obnovlenie” in the Supreme Soviet criticized<\/a> their opponent Shevchuk for the “populist move”, although endorsed idea of joining the Russian Federation.<\/p>\n

The spokesperson of the Russian Presidential Administration, Dmitry Peskov, declared he would not comment on the decree because of lack of knowledge on the topic.<\/p>\n

The Prime-Minister of Moldova, Pavel Filip, was brief in commenting that the decree is a “populist move” oriented to the upcoming elections in the region.<\/p>\n

The Bureau for Reintegration expressed<\/a> its concern regarding the decree and the application of Russian legislation that would lead to the adherence of the region to the Russian Federation. “The Moldovan authorities see the act as a nul and unwanted, taking in account that it was issued by an unconstitutional authority based on a illegally conducted referendum on a part of the territory of the Republic of Moldova.
\nThe Bureau for Reintegration expresses its regret and profound disappointment that the act subminates the efforts of the constitutional authorities and the international partners involved in the process of 5+2 negotiations meant to identify a viable solution for the Transnistrian problem”, says the press-release, calling for positions of international players. <\/p>\n

The Romanian Presidency also commented the decree from Tiraspol, saying that this kind of actions are part of “provoking rhetoric” and require “limited attitude”.<\/p>\n
