The registration period for initiative groups supporting candidates for Moldova Presidentials expired on September 9th. Thus, the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) registered 24 candidates and a corresponding number of initiative groups:

On September 10th, the electoral body registered<\/a> the Democrat candidate Marian Lupu, who confirmed the electoral symbol, his delegate and his finance accountant. The Democrat Marian Lupu collected quickly (24 hours) the necessary signatures to be included in the vote bulletin, a fact that raised questions<\/a> about its legality. <\/p>\n

The candidate of the Platform for Dignity and Truth, Andrei N\u0103stase, notified the press about a violation made by both the Electoral Commission and the Democratic Party. N\u0103stase found<\/a> the 122nd decision of the Commission that limits the time for submitting the documents for a Presidential candidate between 9am and 4pm on workdays and between 9am and 5pm on September 29th. This is to take in account that the Democrats brought the 29 thousand signatures on Saturday, September 3rd, and confirmed the candidate on another Saturday, September 10th.
\n“The Electoral Commission called us and invited to submit the signatures on Saturday. They wanted to make us the same. It is clear that CEC works for a candidate. They violated the law for Marian Lupu”, declared N\u0103stase’s delegate, Alexandru Slusari.
