The Moldovan businessman Veaceslav Platon wants to be a candidate for the Presidentials on October 30th. According to his lawyers, a request regarding the initiative group for supporting Platon was sent to the Central Electoral Commission.<\/p>\n

The lawyer Ana Urasachi declared that the only thing remaining to be done is the physical presence of Platon in front of the electoral body. Ursachi thinks his retaining at the 13th Penitenciary is a barrier for that. For example, September 9th, the day when Platon was supposed to sign, was made a cleaning day.<\/p>\n

On September 7th, the Appeal Court of Chi\u0219in\u0103u decided<\/a> that the Moldovan businessman Veaceslav Platon stays under preventive arrest.<\/p>\n

Veaceslav Platon, considered by Moldovan law enforcement to be a mastermind of financial crime, is accused of benefiting from non-performant loans from the former Banca de Economii in value of 800 million lei: 130 million lei, 12 million USD and 5 million euros.
