The Socialist candidate, Igor Dodon, suggests to open more voting centers outside Moldova for the Presidential elections on October 30th. Dodon thinks the number of voting centers is disproportional to the number of Moldovans who live abroad (over 800 thousand, reportedly). <\/p>\n

Using his position of deputy in the Parliament of Moldova, Dodon sent a letter to the Prime-Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, the head of the Central Electoral Commission, the President of the Parliament and the chief of the OSCE mission, demanding to take in account the huge number of voters abroad. <\/p>\n

The Socialist candidate proposes to open “one voting center for every 3000 voters” in the following way:
\nThe Russian Federation- 159 centers;
\nItaly- 47 centers;
\nThe United States of America- 16 centers;
\nCanada- 6 centers;
\nGermany- 5 centers;
\nSpain- 5 centers;
\nUkraine- 5 centers;
\nIsrael- 4 centers;
\nRomania- 3 centers;
\nGreece- 3 centers;
\nPortugal- 2 centers.
\nOther countries would each get one voting bureau. <\/p>\n
