The Communists’ Party of the Republic of Moldova will not participate at the Presidential elections on October 30th. The statement was made by the Communist leader Vladimir Voronin on September 3rd, after the session of the Executive Political Committee of the party. <\/p>\n

The former President said he would boycott the elections because he considers them to be illegal. Voronin thinks the switch to direct Presidential elections shouldn’t had been done by the Constitutional Court<\/a>, but by the will of people in a referendum. <\/p>\n

“This President will be elected illegally and all of his decrees will be illegal. Thus, we can’t go to something illegitimate. We can’t agree to what happens in the Parliament and the country. That’s why we will boycott these elections”, declared Voronin.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Asked by the candidates, Voronin responded:<\/p>\n

“God save Moldova, if any of these candidates become President! Poor Moldova and poor people!
\nI regard them all in such way. Other than ambition, I don’t see anything but an empty drum.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Maybe Voronin forgot the current political class was formed during his rule as President between 2001 and 2009.<\/p>\n
