You are always searching for errors, adapting to a certain style and trying to think that way in real life&#8221;<\/em>, thinks Valeria.<br \/>\n<em>&#8220;When you work in IT, you feel some kind of power, because you can understand how the technologies work and this opens a lot of doors for you. When you try something out that really works and gives some results, you feel you can do something valuable&#8221;<\/em>, adds Daniela.<\/p>\n<p>They kept remembering all the coding languages like HTML, Javascript or PHP they learned during the Bootcamp of the GirlsGoIT, the point when they started to code either for their own project, a website providing information of medicinal plants, or the tasks they are assigned at FFW. Still, in terms of preferences, the girls chose Python as their main tool as it is largely used in web development:<br \/>\n&#8220;From what we learned at BootCamp, we understood that you need to start with Python because it is pretty user-friendly, easy and by the way, it is one of the most popular coding languages&#8221;, advises us Daniela.<\/p>\n<p><iframe width=\"740\" height=\"416\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/eGB2CTg9mEk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe> <\/p>\n<p>Alex Arnaut, their mentor and GM at FFW, stressed that the agency decided to offer an internship to the girls to give them a chance to show what they&#8217;re capable of, but also to raise awareness of IT.<br \/>\n<em>&#8220;When I heard about GirlGoIT, I thought that this is a great idea. We have a lot of girls who do not know what to do after graduating school. I saw there a big opportunity. I am happy people invest time to raise awareness about IT&#8221;<\/em>, confessed Alex.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, Alex believes Moldova has a general lack of high-skilled young people in specific domains such as IT, and this is a major problem their agency encounters. He hopes concrete steps will be taken in the direction of skill-based learning in the Moldovan schools and universities, so that young people get well-paid jobs and the local companies get the best and smartest minds to work.<\/p>\n<p>Asked about what they recommend to other girls before entering the IT domain, Valeria and Daniela, full of confidence, had several pieces of advice.<br \/>\n<em>&#8220;An important advise: don&#8217;t give up when you have errors or misunderstandings in the code. We had a lot of those, but knowing that for other people it is okay helped you get where you wanted to be. You know you are not the only one who had an error&#8221;<\/em>, stresses Daniela, continuing with the description of the errors they had in their project.<br \/>\nValeria comes up with even more pragmatical approach: <em>&#8220;The main thing is, when you feel IT is attractive to you, to continue and not let influenced by unimportant persons or causes.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>We left Daniela and Valeria at FFW convinced they like what they are doing, their creative way of spending their time, whether it is part of their future professional career or not. One more thing is for sure: IT helped them discover new horizons for their personal development.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ffwagency.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">FFW<\/a> is a conglomerate of five agencies with a 15-year record of delivering complex digital solutions. FFW comprises more than 400 digital consultants, designers, and technologists working in 11 countries all around the world. The Moldovan office of FFW has 34 employees that work on digital projects of Stanford, General Electric, Sefora and Box.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.girlsgoit.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">GirlsGoIT<\/a> is a program jointly developed by UN Women office in Moldova, eGovernment Center, Novateca, ATIC (Association of Private ICT Companies) and TEKEDU.
