On July 29th, the Parliament of Moldova approved in the final lecture the increase of the value of a conventional unit from 20 lei to 50 lei. The conventional unit is the base sum for calculating the state fees.<\/p>\n

The Government proposed a 1% of the average salary value for the unit, but the fixed sum was established at 50 lei.<\/p>\n

Moreover, the maximal value for a contravention fee was increased from 150 to 500 units for physical persons and from 500 to 1500 units for physical persons on management positions and for the juridical persons. The penal fee was increased from 1000 to 3000 units for physical persons, from 10000 to 20000 for physical persons who did a material damage and from 20000 to 60000 for juridical persons. <\/p>\n

Furthermore, now 100 conventional units would be exchangeable with 30 days of arrest for not paying the fee, or with 60 hours of community service in case the person can’t afford the fee. <\/p>\n

The law was voted by 60 deputies of the Moldovan Parliament.
